David C. Mayer

David earned a Masters of Science in Resource Management and Conservation. His Master's Thesis was based upon a compost feasibility study for the Sony Ericsson Open, which is a major tennis championship located in Miami/Key Biscayne, Florida. As an undergraduate, he received a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Policy. David holds the following certifications: LEED Green Associate, BPI Building Analyst, CPR. 

He worked for IBM for 5 years, as an environmental consultant for IBM's Essex Junction in their Vermont location, specializing in compliance issues with EPA and OSHA. He also has 7 years experience in the event industry working in sustainability and operations. His long list of clients include: Major League Baseball Team: Miami Marlins, Lollapalooza (c3 Presents), PGA Tour's Deutsche Bank Championship, NFL Draft, and more. 

Career Highlights

  • Worked with the 2013 Presidential Inauguration on greening initiatives 
  • Helped the Miami Marlins achieve the "Green Glove" Award for the National League East from the Stadium Manager's Association (SMA)
  • Presenter at the 2014 Stadium Manager's Association Conference in Portland, OR, specifically on Stadium Environmental Strategy
  • Drafted 41-page holistic Sustainability Report for the 2015 USGA U.S. Open 
  • Assisted in implementing a plan that helped the PGA Deutsche Bank Championship become the first 'carbon neutral' event on the PGA Tour
  • Supplied the Life Is Good company with an energy assessment of their 141,000 sq. ft. plant located in Nashua, NH, generating significant savings
  • Along with teammate (and fellow Owl), Greg Lam, once combined for 6 goals in Vermont's Amateur Soccer League (CVSL) Championship (David netted 1 goal and Greg 5)
  • Branford Rotary 2019 "King Pong" Ping Pong Invitational Champion
